BBC One Idents

It may just be me but is the audio quality of BBC1 idents a bit sub standard today? Programmes and the announcements sound fine but the ident audio sounds a bit poor and certainly very quiet too.

Or is it just me?

I couldn't agree more actually. The sound was appalling when Capoeria was played at 6:00am for Breakfast this morning.

Presumably BBC ONE England you're talking about. I don't know, not listened, but I would obviously be surprised as they are being played out from "the most technologically advanced playout centre in Europe".

The logo seems to be poor quality aswell? Are these idents starting to wear from tape? I thought they didnt use tape anymore, and was on some sort of servers.

Just before EastEnders they played the Bollywood one and the audio was awful. It was quiet and sounded really poor quality.

You would have thought that they weren't from tape otherwise they would have worn out a long time ago. If you think most idents get at least a screening or two each day then it wouldn't be long before they wore out.

Does anyone else get a jitter of audio after a promo has played? like about a second of audio before it cuts to another trailer or ident? Strangely this also happens on itv sometimes?

Could someone tell me who the name of that female scottish narrator on BBC1 is? She never ever gives the ident a chance to play. After 1.5 seconds she speaks and dubs the audio of the ident out. Skateboarders this morning hardly lasted 3 seconds. She's really starting to irritate me. Has anyone else noticed this?

There's one on National which always fluffs her lines, she does my head in....
"N-Now on BBC One, co---uing our scre e ns, series we join Bill Tin bull and Sian Lloyd for Global W-W-Warming, warning"

I noticed the crappy quality sound on the idents as well. They used "Pop Video" into Neighbours and it was awful. Incredibly ropey sounding. I'm just putting it down to their dodgy equipment.

Is the female Scottish announcer Stephanie Sabine? I think she also used to announce on Granada Plus at some stage.
