The movement on that insert with Andy Murray looked really wierd, I'm guessing standards conversion. Was it shot in 30p, thne converted to 50i (which would lead to some frames being on screen for 1 field, and some for 2)? Maybe they should just shoot them in 60i, likely wouldn't look as odd when standards converted.

Only the network used this sting, I wonder if it was last min?

As its due to extend hours for the Olympics today, BBC Four is instead showing a BBC slide with Red Button music.

The same slide used by CBBC following the closure of BBC Three and to prepare for the extension of CBBC's hours.

This is what has annoyed me. They did an ident for Glasgow 2014. They do an ident for Rio 2016. Yet they did nothing for London 2012. Are the BBC somehow a little bit anti-English? In Glasgow, the BBC heralded it as the Scottish Games. In Manchester 2002, it was a UK games. Not an English games. I am slightly annoyed at how Rio gets an ident and our own country's excellent games got nothing.

I think it's a little bit too late to be stressing over that now. Let's move on...

That's the first time the three note motif has been used on a new ident for a long while, isn't it?

We have some nice Menus but all it says is BBC Sport not the channel?

To be fair, for most of London 2012 there were only 3 programmes on BBC1 - The Olympics, The News and EastEnders.... a special ident wouldn't have been shown much

Also that glasgow ident is still used to this day in Scotland. Its getting its money worth with that one.

Wasn't EastEnders on BBC Two for the duration of London 2012 or am I imagining that? I'm sure I remember EastEnders' return-of-Sharon trailers as marking the return of EastEnders to BBC One after the London games were over.
