Well it was "Capoeira" into the news in London region (of course!)

And a different announcer too!

BBC Scotland
BBC One Scotland also showed Capoeira into the Six.

Thanks Robert for your post - very helpful. The Press Office have called me back and have said the matter is being looked in to and there was nothing to report at the moment.

Tai Chi in the South. So the Acrobats really have gone, though it's still not clear why.

whoopsie! Bit of a cockup into the LDN news just now - the Capoeira music was still running over the opening of the news, got turned up, then turned down, then the BBC LDN music came on underneath Emily Maitlis.

Tai Chi in the North into both versions of Look North. The extreme close up of that bloke's face is going to be as annoying as the close up of that women on the Look North titles. Capeoria is a much better ident!

A rather botched Tai Chi into Points West Rolling Eyes Razz

Yes, but hot air balloons don't 'die' - unless Ms Heggassy decided to kill them of course...

Ok, strange thought, but what do you think would happen if the person who flew the Baloons died? Would they continued to be shown, because the person wasn't actually seen in the Idents?

As for Acrobats, it is a shame about the girl who died, but it's a relief that it wasn't the woman from the Ident and that it will be back soon. Why was it removed though? If it was a friend of one of the Acrobats, then surely that's not serious enough to remove it. I could understand if the acrobat herself had died though.

The stupid ass who screened it at 6am should hang his head in shame!

That's a bit OTT, isn't it? It could have been an accident, he might not have been told about it. There's a stack of reasons why it might have been shown.

Acrobats Is/Was the best ident on BBC One. The Music is the best too. I do think its OK for the BBC to keep the Ident going, as long as the Family are happy with it. I think the Family would be proud having someone special in their lives on the Television doing what she did best. It would be a good tribute to the girl.

Maybe a good thing the BBC could do is show the full 90 seconds, then a still at the end - In memory of .......... 19?? - 2003.

But if Acrobats is going forever, why does Ballet have to still be sidelined? Nothing says it HAS to be kept for whatever reasons its kept for. Do ITV1, Channel 4 make idents, than keep them for 'Just in Case' reasons?? No. Anyway, What if someone from Ballet died in the future (God forbid for this to happen but you never know) what would the BBC do then? Spend loads of money on making another ident not to be used???

My guess would be that although the performer who died had nothing to do with the ident, in the light of the news it could seem slightly tasteless to show it, and so has been temporarily withdrawn. Although its a news story that's probably passed most people by.

I would agree there. It is sensible that in light of the death, the BBC should temporarily withdraw the ident because it features the kind of thing that killed Eva Garcia.
