BB
It was last seen on BBC One Scotland just before Breakfast started this morning.
I have just called the BBC Press Office and they were not aware of this. The gentleman I spoke to is now looking in to it for me, so I shall let you know the outcome as soon as I hear more...

What utter rubbish you've written there.
If you've got an ident featuring an acrobatic performer doing what killed her ( IF if the two events are connected), you cannot continue to show it. If the BBC found out that one of the kids in the Christmas ident had been killed, of course they would pull it. Don't be so flippant. It isn't over the top, it's a natural reaction.
And to whoever said the acrobat's family would "surely" want it to continue... how do you know? Perhaps they asked for it to be pulled?

Indeed ison, good old Kay showed us Haka with a new variant on the opening.
As for dropping the ident, it is a bit over the top, if one of the kids got run over in a crash would the Xmas Ident be cancelled. I wouldn't have dropped it, since they are now 2 idents down. These idents are cursed!!

I said in my original post that I didn't know if it was the same girl or not!
And maybe you should quote the posts - not only did it not follow on from my message - presumably because you crossposted - it also went onto the next page!
Oh, and I'm 19, not 12.

Not until a few posts ago. Even then you do still imply it.
So perhaps you need to re-read all threads before you post. So don't get on your moral high 12yearold horse and tell me what to and not to do.

Perhaps they did. None of us known any of the circumstances. All I'm saying is that it would be a wonderful tribute to their work to be on TV so often.

I refuse to enter your pointless arguement in this respectful thread.
As for some reactions. It would be only courtesy to withdraw an ident or ad if someone in it was to be killed/die suddenly.
If I was incharge of this and someone in one of these idents died I'd have it removed immediately. In this instance I'd maybe put up a static after/before a programme praising this womans successful career. But finding an appropriate time and place for this maybe rather more difficult.

You would never have had this problem if the BBC had chosen an identity such as a balloon or other object which could symbolise a channel.
I think this would be a good cue to drop the horrible dance idents completely.

Excellent point! This is why the Balloon idents worked so well - they were well made, had good music that could be easily talked over. The only good idents at present are Bollywood and Tai Chi (both types).

National news, just before the cut to the local news? Or after the copyright details have appeared at the end of the news?
Just looked at BBCi - no mention of
any
acrobat dying. That's odd, especially if it caused one of their idents to be taken off air!
Also, they forgot to remove the ident from the website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/ident_ram/acrobat.ram Oops!
