Why dosen't BBC ONE or BBC 1 Wales show a full ident before News 24?

Looking at the clips on TV Home, Dan, you are in two of the so-called 'Full Idents' with the balloons.

A pity the idents aren't shown in their full length - IIRC the Haka dancers walk off at the end! Laughing

Yep they jump in the air and then walk off, as BBC ONE Wales viewers will have seen before one of the late films last week..!

I wonder why they purposely cut off that bit on most of the idents on the BBC ONE website. Rolling Eyes

I do try to show the bits you don't normally get to see, when time allows!

Oh yes I saw that -- not the film though, was it not one of those *awful* ones like the one that was on late last night? Straight to tv that one was. *cheap*

I've seen the whole of Tapdogs on BBC ONE Wales before, I'm sure it was a mistake since no-one ever spoke. And that curious black outline is still around the box!

Although of course there's the alternative version, but it's debatable whether that looks much less like London anyway.

The first 10 seconds or so has nothing even vaguely recognisable as London

Oh I do disagree. Really, there's still no skyline like that in the rest of the UK, it's very obvious to anyone that it's the capital. I don't mind it that much, it's the 'Bore Da' ident [when the CA is in the right mood].

This is the first shot of the Nations' version, before they do the manic spinning over each other for ages and make you go dizzy. You can see the London Eye there.

I still say, the next Friday evening when there's been a spot of good news, perhaps sport related -- BBC ONE Wales should use Festival again for the 6 News, it really did work well.

Anyone who watched "The Murder Game" on Network BBC ONE should have seen the full Haka ident played before one of the episodes. The ending where they just amble off is quite funny.

Incidentally, BBC TWO played a very long Remote ident into their unplanned football coverage last week. Lovely!

They did that last week (albeit with a bit more warning - for some anyway) they played the new item on a loop for over half an hour so everyone had a chance to get it.

So the regions added their own red box with the name of their region on it?

Yes, but that's the 'nations version' - not the one I'm talking about! In the 'normal' one the first 10 seconds it is just anonomous rooftops it's only when the Tate Modern chimney comes into view is it recognisable

Is it Dean on Network this afternoon? Decent introduction to Neighbours, anecdotes about Janine on EastEnders and exterminate Dalek noises about Diagnosis Murder? Excellent stuff Laughing
