Although all the regions were sent Capoeria first, but were then told not to use it as it was 'too overtly London'.
There was a playout of the whole original set to all regions who wanted it a while back, but most aren't suitable for news use

God that ident is a rareity if you don't live in London! I only ever see that before a national link to the News and even then it isn't that often, but I actually did see it this morning before BBC News 24 took the airwaves and for once we got a closedown announcement, not just: "Through the night......."
I prefer seeing Tai Chi, it always seems rather smooth, but when it is played out from BBC Manchester it looks terrible! As they haven't got the widescreen sorted.

Although of course there's the alternative version, but it's debatable whether that looks much less like London anyway.
So Larry, if - say - an e-mail was sent out saying that a new ident would be played out from somewhere in TVC in about fifteen minutes, do you think most regions would be able to get a feed of that suite in that amount of time?

Why dosen't BBC ONE or BBC 1 Wales show a full ident before News 24?
Looking at the clips on TV Home, Dan, you are in two of the so-called 'Full Idents' with the balloons.
A pity the idents aren't shown in their full length - IIRC the Haka dancers walk off at the end!

Yep they jump in the air and then walk off, as BBC ONE Wales viewers will have seen before one of the late films last week..!
I do try to show the bits you don't normally get to see, when time allows!

The first 10 seconds or so has nothing even vaguely recognisable as London

They did that last week (albeit with a bit more warning - for some anyway) they played the new item on a loop for over half an hour so everyone had a chance to get it.

Yeah, they seem to have a 4:3 copy of Tai Chi whereas Acrobats is a proper 14:9 version, which is what they really need in their situation. It does look particularly naff, really bad picture quality.
