Does anyone know how this effects the idents? I don't think there be a big change but I guessing there be some sort of change for the HD logo?

I'd assume same idents just with an HD symbol next to the 'one' when the logo forms.

I believe it has already been shown. It's just the BBC One idents with an HD addition as supascript next to the 'one'.

It was so lame, that I feel justfied in being too bone-idle to look for the relevant pic. Rolling Eyes

Of course they will insist on a DOG for the channel: in case we're all too stupid to remember what we're watching, and that will create a flurry of complaints.

I'm sure I'll be one of them.

I can't conceive of a more convincing case for scrapping the boxed logos than this abomination.

It is a bit like a booger. I'd be forever taking a tissue to the screen.

On this blog (link below) there is a video with a teaser of what's to come on BBC One HD.

That's a shocker, although it has more than a whiff of "stop-gap" about it... or is that wishful thinking?

It's definitely time for the current branding system to be reviewed; the expanding array of hurriedly shoehorned boxes is getting ridiculous.

They even tried to do a BBC Parliament box a few years back...

...which looked even more hideous on-screen because of the size it was at on the promos. I mean, what was the point? They didn't have a boxed logo on-screen back then and they don't have one now. Made for the sake of it. 1997 style could easily have still been used.

The list of 'regional variations' for BBC One on the BBC programmes website now includes HD:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcone/programmes/schedules

It's got nothing on it yet, but as schedules don't appear there until a week in advance, you can expect to see something from next Wednesday.

I believe the line up for the launch is as follows:
7:00pm The One Show
7:30pm Wallace and Gromit World of Inventions
8:00pm Waterloo Road
9:00pm The Apprentice
I think there all in HD to.

Waterloo Road isn't scheduled on BBC One (SD) on Wed 3 Nov, so I assume the series has finished. It's Jimmy's Food Factory at 20:00 and Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers at 20:30.

BBC HD listings from Wed 3 to Fri 5 Nov are out, and obviously aren't showing any programmes simulcast with BBC One.

Curiously, on Friday the 20:30 BBC One episode of QI is being shown at 21:00 on BBC HD. Wallace and Gromit is being repeated on BBC HD on Thursday suggesting it will be in HD on Wednesday on BBC One HD, likewise Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers is being repeated on BBC HD on Friday.

The 16:45 airing of Doctors has been retained on BBC HD.
