(ATI cards had all sorts of issues with BBC HD on DSat for ages because of a fault in the way Microsoft and ATI handled the more advanced AVC tools being used by the BBC's encoders)

That explains why it appears pixely as i have an ATI card, yesterdays Match seemed to be better but still looks too soft compared to Sky Sports HD.

Good news!! Perhaps the 10pm simulcasts will now make BBC HD's top ten, as the EE repeats have.

BBC One HD Nations Opts

from 2012 onwards

BBC One HD launched as a network only service in November 2010, with a view to adding BBC One Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in HD at a subsequent point. Assuming current levels of output continue, these changes are scheduled for delivery from 2012. This would allow viewers in the Nations in HD homes to access the same service in HD as they currently do in standard definition. This would create a more developed BBC One HD service, which better reflects the UK. There would be greater visibility of Nations’ content and services within HD homes.

Well now they're switching from DVB-S to DVB-S2 presumably they have space for a few more services - on their current transponder. That said - 5 services (BBC HD and 4 x BBC One HD) on one transponder with 4 of them carrying mainly the same content (and thus not being the beneficiaries of great statmuxing results) may be an interesting situation.

Though thinking about it - isn't one of the ITV1 HD streams on a BBC transponder now - so maybe that's not the aim.
