ITV 1 HD is not fully regionalised. I believe only two variants London and Granada are available to cover the whole of England and Wales.

I know it's not related but can someone advise why on Freeview HD, ITV1 for me is the London version and not the Midlands? Have tried looking on the internet, but can't find any reason.

What region are you in normally?

According to ITV's own website:
Questions about ITV1 HD

Which regions will be represented on ITV1 HD?
We will launch with the London region followed by a roll out of regions in stages - London, North, Central, South East by June 2010. It's worth checking with each digital HD TV provider before signing up for their service that they can provide digital TV services to your area.

So I guess, if everythings gone to plan those should be the 4 regions.

I'm 100% certain I get the Central version of ITV1 HD by default on Sky here.

im sure the channel switches to the SD local version at 6pm weeknights. it does in Central West anyway. I get the West version, and im sure the east gets their version on ITV1 HD aswell.

On which platform? I don't think a Sky box can switch channels in the way you describe. Are you using Freesat?

There are four ITV1 HD regions on Sky; Granada, London, Central and Meridian.

Freesat just use Granada and London.

Eastenders tonight on BBC One HD made it's Train scene look SHOCKING with it's green screen window work. Laughing

When it's on iPlayer I suggest people look for it just for a giggle!

I have friends who have Sky HD and they get a HD version of ITV1 Central (which is my region) but what I watch is Freeview HD, probably not many people viewing it at the moment but I recently bought a new TV with integrated Freeview HD, just wondered why it's available on Sky and not via the aerial.

Apparently ITV are creating another mega-region to broadcast ITV1 HD Westcountry to the South West and Wales on Sky. Not sure when this is due to become operational.

I like to think I am perpetually back-lit. Oh...and semi-transparent.
