I predict this...

"On BBC One we join the BBC News teams where you are, on the BBC News Channel we have all the latest national and international news and on BBC One HD we have a caption telling you to switch back to BBC One SD for your regional BBC News programme".

you forgot the uncomfortable pause whilst the opts take place Wink

What was the programme called? "Regional News"?

No, it was called 'This is BBC One HD'.

Did they show The One Show? What are they playing instead of the regional programme Inside Out?

They didn't broadcast 'The One Show', it just reverted to trailers as normally shown on BBC HD when off-air.

David posted:
Do the idents have a voice over?

No voice-over. Just the BBC HD ident (as they do at the end of a programme on BBC HD).

I'll try to capture it at the 10.30 regional bulletin, if they happen to do the same thing then.

I don't see why BBC One HD can't take the BBC News channel when regional news is on BBC One (SD) but I'm guessing it will probably be London like ITV1 HD was when it started.
I believe that sometime this week, the sustaining feed of BBC One will switch to taking the News Channel during the main regional opts, rather than BBC London News - though I'm not sure if that's because of London's move to Millbank, or because of the HD launch.

I'm assuming we'll get BBC London News during Breakfast (when the BBC News Channel isn't really up and running - and Pres aren't involved in the regional opting?)

If the longer regional opts are replaced by the BBC News Channel - that is going to pepper their schedule with yet more opts (just like when UK Today launched in 1998 - when the 1330 and 1830 opts were opt-ins to News 24 - though at that time it was more complicated because the One and Six weren't simulcast on News 24 before)

I doubt it would have anything to do with Millbank, if anything I;d have thought that the decamp there would make it as the sustaining service more necessary

I'd have thought they'll only really take the 6.30pm half hour on a regular basis, and perhaps pad or use filler shows (or most likely the London news) at 1.30pm/10.25pm.

What does it mean "BBC HD can now be found on Virgin Media 187" - does this mean BBC One HD will appear on 108?
