'"Viewers who have manually tuned to the English regional variants in advance of their launch in the EPG on July 29th may notice a Digital On-screen Graphic ( DOG - sometimes called a logo, or channel ident), appearing over the channels.
This is for final testing and identification including the launch on 29th July, whereafter they will be removed."

I understand that the DOGs will be up for a time tomorrow, so the engineer boys can check everything is in order ...

I'm reliably informed they'll be gone before the evening, before anyone panics and pees themselves ... as is usual here

Bit annoying for anyone trying to capture stuff though... hope no new idents or trails appear once, never to be seen again, while that DOG is around!

Well neither network nor the nations have a DOG, so I don't believe it will be *nearly* the earth-movingly critical situation implied.

I'm sure everyone's planning to store 942 in their favourites, the local channel for local people.

Nine-four-two,
it's just for you.

At five to seven,
it's weather heaven!

Mr Harvey, you sing beautifully.

Oh yes, it's a bit like a pantomime all year round -- lots of dressing up, camping about, audience participation, and of course all the action goes on behind him.

9 out of 10 cat breeders recommend it.

I saw Derek on Friday night walking to his car. I waved to him, he waved back but he didn't know who the hell I was Laughing

With these temporary DOGs I do think the Hull one is trying to break a record as the longest dog. "BBC ONE East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire", they've even added the word 'North' which isn't usually part of that region's title. In 4:3 it almost stretches across the whole screen!

Ok then, so what times are the channels likely to be added? First thing in the morning?

Just saw the Oxford opt advertise their channel as starting at 9am tomorrow.... then I flicked back to Spotlight, who advertised their new service, with behind-the-scenes pictures.

They explaind that we should automaticaly get Spotlight, if not, to use channel 957.

Knowing Sky, the channels probably won't be on before 10am

Points West managed to totally ignore the subject tonight. Perhaps they'll mention it tomorrow.

By saying the start is 9am, I'd guess they're just saying don't expect any local stuff during Breakfast. That gives the techies the window from 9am to 1.30pm to get things working properly, without anyone complaining.

Emails were batting around, and it is up on the website - I think most of the publicity is being saved for when we're actually there!

(BTW, did anyone see the report I voiced on lunch the other week ... hehe ... lucky me!)
