What is the frequency informatioon for the nations?

Apparently, they are:

10803 H 22 5/6 BBC1 Scotland, Wales
10773 H 22 5/6 BBC1 N.Ireland, London

I trust you're only after BBC ONE Wales though, naturally..

Are the EPG numbers banding about on DS confirmed, btw? If so *why* is Scotland first?

Ah, 5/6 is the FEC. I was expecting 2/3 or 3/4. Astra's website doesn't list the FEC and Symbol Rate for all the channels for some reason.

Yep - Most (all?) Astra 2D broadcasts seem to be 22Msps 5/6 - so a lower bulk data rate, but also less error correction. (FEC 5/6 means only 1/6 of the 22Msps bulk data is used for error correction info.)

As to why Scotland is first - I think it is in the same order as the BBC One England EPG - where BBC Two Scotland comes first? Someone has to...

ok, dont wanna sound thick here, but for example, on 101 I get BBC One Northwest and 102, BBC Two england, will i still get NW and 2Eng on 948 and 959, so in effect have these channels twice on the epg, or are they doing it, that what ever you have on 101/102 you dont have in the 900's, cos at the mo e.g. Scot dont have scot in 900's like us Eng's do. They have the scot 900's number replaced with eng channel, so making sure that that persons 102 is not on the epg twice. so by the 29th or whenever it is, we will have our BEEB 1/2 regions twice on the epg?

I hope some one can make sence of that. Sorry is you can't.

Basically, 101 will have your BBC One region on it, but the space where it would be for other people in the UK in the 900's would be vacant.

So, after all this waiting, has anyone from England watched the Nations output yet? Some comments would be nice.

Yes I have. I have watched a lot of NI and Scot today. There good but one thing - 12:15 today (I think) Tai chi ident, network had Subtitles on it, NI did not. Trust them to let the side down!

Overall good to have the nations, just sick of pressing services and 6, and scrolling down loads if ITV regions before I can watch them, but apart from that, its the big thumbs up from my camp.

Is it BBC ONE London or is it the sustaining feed version? By that I mean will it have an LDN red box on the ident into the news?

So someting we have discussed in the past was would you be able to put a region of your choice in the slot 101?

Also are the nations availble now for viewers in england??

And did the programme have subtitles? (By that I mean did you check there were any subtitles there - not if the network symbol had subs on it). Could have been a mistake mind you.

One thing you will notice though is that the audio on symbols in NI is handled differently that in the other nations... Smile
