I too saw Look East's Cambridge version tonight (until the last 7 or so minutes) up until it was time to switch back to see Paul Hudson's Emley forecast.

I was quite surprised at how 'nearly local' it was with reports from near King's Lynn, about the A47 needing coversion to dual carriageway, the reports from Peterborough etc..

This is exactly the show I need for reports south of me. Very impressed, carry on!!

I saw that report too - Isn't the flat countryside of East Anglia lovely!! Very Happy (no, i'm not being sarcastic)

I still can't get Wales, Chris, so I THINK it's just the "third" transponder with only CB and CI on which isn't encrypted.

BBC1 Scotland goes in the clear from July 10, so I think the same will apply to Wales/NI.

I think most of you will be impressed with how professional BBC One Wales is. No recorded announcements, ever. Friendly announcers who are in my experience just a little TOO friendly Wink.

You could I suppose compare BBC Wales with BBC Scotland, but up there you have to put up with those soggy Scottish people and their inaudible accents. So stick with wales - after all you don't have to travel through Northumberland to get to Wales (another bonus point no doubt).

Blimey - aren't you being a little harsh on south Lincolnshire? It's not that bad! Erm.... well... I agree Skeggy's a bit of a depressing sh*thole of a place along with Spalding but Boston's not bad! You must agree that the Boston Stump's a pretty impressive building? Tallest church tower in the UK!

Maybe if they planted something more interesting in the fields perhaps? A little less heavy on the cabbage front? The roads in south Lincolnshire are like they are because of the flood-hindering drainage ditches (dykes but that word's got associations) which were put in before the car became the most popular mode of transport.

5 Reasons never to visit Lincolnshire:

1. Lee Stanley lives there
2. They make and eat sausages
3. It's full of people who've just been released back into the community (you daren't stop at traffic lights - and if you do, lock the car doors. Otherwise you'll have some manic depressive on the back seat, threatning to poke you with his cattle prod)
4. Shabby houses and generally *poor* people
5. If you take a swim in the sea, you'll come out with at least 30 different toxins in your blood.

No way, lass!

I was quite polite to Lincolnshire, compared to the treatment the Lleyn Peninsula gets!

I read that. But Pembrokeshire sticks out more than Lleyn!

I hope you aren't planning to tow that down the Bristol channel and tuck it snugly under the Severn bridge? Wink

No way, James!

We don't want Bosherston next to Bristol!

The natives might invade Whiteladies Road and cause havoc!

ROFL!

Bosherston is lovely this time of year - or it would be if there weren't coachloads of old grannies with their tartan trolleys sitting outside the cafe talking about the weather.

I simply continue driving past the cafe to the beach - winding up the window so I don't catch any of their ailments in the summer breeze wafting through my car. Wink

"Driving!" I hear you shout. Shouldn't a strapping young lad of my age be walking or cycling the 1 and a bit miles down the lane to the beach?

Well yes you're probably right - but the folk from the home counties with their MPV's and estates whizzing round the corners like it were the M25 makes me a little weary of walking on foot. I'd rather them crash into me while I was in the car. Not only will I remain relatively unscathed, but I shall be able to claim on their insurance and get a new car! Wink

My digital camera should be with me on Thursday or Friday. I shall take some photos of the villages and beaches for you, Nick. Maybe you can come and visit for yourself in the coming weeks?! Smile

Contrary to popular belief (and the BT phonebook) I don't actually live there. I live a couple of miles across the rolling hills and woodland. My reasons for visiting are for the beach and erm, a particular resident who I've been stalking since 2001. Laughing
