Just thought I`d let you know that some viewers wont be able to get the Belmont (Hull) version of Look North on 101 in areas that it currently broadcasts to on analogue. The viewers will receive the Emley (Leeds) Look North. Though it will be sorted by next year.
Nevertheless, both the Emley and Belmont versions of BBC ONE will be available in the 900s on the electronic programme guide

A very interesting comment, which indicates a detailed knowledge of how the postcode mapping will operate.
I'm extremely surprised that anyone is admitting to that sort of detailed information at this, quite early, stage.
Care to let us know more details of what you know?
ONE MONTH and four days, according to the information I have.
Tuesday 29th JULY 2003.
But all being well, shouldn't Derek Day be sooner -- only 14 days away? When the current deal with Sky runs out on 10 July?
Referring naturally to the date the BBC ONE Nations are unencrypted for England [and vice versa really].
Of course the normal and content tv watching majority who aren't concerned with these matters in such an, erm, involved way as we might be here, may not be able to access the channels until 29 July. But it's not like most of us aren't used to pressing a few extra buttons in the Add Channels section for a long while now, so a few more days won't hurt us..

No, the 2 events are not connected. There was nothing to stop the BBC launching all the regions when they were encrypted by Sky and there is no reason why the BBC can't un-encrypt without broadcasting the regions.
Not yet - and neither is the BBC One Channel Islands (Jersey opt out of Plymouth) service. These will probably be carried on a 3rd transponder - also used by BBCi I expect. Given that these are test services I imagine that Cambridge and Jersey will appear later - in fact I wouldn't be surprised if BBC One Channel Islands were to be the last to launch - as AFAIK the vision circuits from Jersey to Plymouth have yet to be installed.[/quote]
Gutted!
The sub-regions (Oxford, Cambridge, Jersey) are the thing I'm most desperate to see, to see how they compare to the "main" versions at the opt in/out points. Ho hum.
Are Cambridge and Jersey definately going to appear at some point (albeit maybe not for ages), rather than never ever become available at all?
