Absolutely right. I think the same should be said for Carlton, get rid of the star!!! It's just useless!!!

I actually like the clock on BBC ONE! The only problem with it is that the delay on digital services makes it inaccurate, but introducing the news with a balloon ident somehow makes it seem less important, and a countdown would be totally unsuitable for BBC ONE.

So would a clock on ITV be better than the usual regional idents??

I think so, however, not analog please, I would like to see ITV move with the digital age and use a digital clock

Have you any idea how dull a digital clock would be on tv? as clock rather than a countdown

I'm working on this, but am sceptical with a midi file as it plays SO differently on different soundcards. It is synthed, not played by an orchestra, and may use voices outside of the GM spectrum. The chords for the N24 countdown:

(For pianists): Bflat min, Fmin, Gflat maj, Eflat maj, Gflat maj, Aflat maj, Bflat maj. This is transposed so that it is acutally in the key that they play it in, so you can play along!
