BBC One Christmas Idents

Sorry to go O/T but I just saw the BBC One Walking With Beasts ident with no URL on it-is it always like that?

I think most of the BBC1 Christmas idents over the last few years have been pretty good, particularly the ones involving the balloon in 1999 and 2000. The only real clunker was the 1998 ident which featured a giant red bauble with some deer or penguins wandering about - extremely dull. But this year's sounds pretty good.

It's interesting that Aardman got in on this one... because, after all, they did produce one of the most popular festive BBC2 idents in the 'Big 2' raange, the Wallace and Gromit set, and although W&G won't be involved Aardman are a company with a massive pedigree, and well worth a shot, who knows, maybe one day they'll do a channel's regular ident! So far tonight I have seen no Christmas Promotion trailers whatsoever letalone a Christmas Ident. Like RW said the Christmas Idents won't be unleashed yet, it will either be Christmas Eve or a few days before. Let's hope we see some Christmas promotions soon though as I was led to believe tonite was the nite! I liked the BBC TWO Wallace & Gromit ident at Christmas 1995 so this year's BBC ONE Christmas Idents should be pretty good! The first time I saw the walking with beasts Ident it had no URL.

And I saw it again twice today WITH a url! What's going on?

They just showed the rather long Christmas Preview for BBC1 - it looked great, and it had snippits of the christmas idents, plus it had a nice way of making the programme title form out of glitter. The |B|B|C|ONE logo was the normal white colour, not red as some people say. Just thought I should update the message board about that.

Personally the 1997 Idents were the best yet.

Those during 1998 and 1999 were very dull, In fact, 1998's efforts were better than the 1999 single ident in my opinion.

From What Real Player files I have seen I like 1993, 1994, 1997,1999 & 2000. 1998 was awful why not use a black caption, 1991 was alright but not spectatcular, 1992 doesn't do much & never seen 1995, does anyone know where I can get a real player file of this.

as for the 2's 1992,1993, 1994, 1995, 1999 & 2000 were good. 1997 was crap, 1998 wasn't anything spectacular, 1996 was ok & 1991 was bizzare

By the way that new one looks good & quite original shame I missed the trailer
