Agreed. That night time variant is especially great.

Hoping we get a daytime version before the 1 o'clock news or Breakfast tomorrow

Yes, we are: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p08zqqp1

I love that music too. It's very calm and relaxing

It’s lovely. Gives me 1993-esque feels with the night and day variants.

The 2018 Christmas ident also had a day and night variant of the Cromer Pier news ident.

Also a lovely treat from Lewis Pringle featuring Xmas symbols past and present!

News version is nice but annoying they didn't leave space for the logo under the tree so it was framed better.
Be nicer and more tolerant to each other. Them's the rules.

Are the monsters off something or just made up for the idents?

Zog and the Flying Dragon is the Christmas Day animation, while the Gruffalos Child is from a few years back.

Yes, they're all Julia Donaldson stories that have been transferred to TV films.
It looks like someone's bleached the Minions.

These are lovely, and so good to have some musical accompaniment.

The simple plain Christmas trees are also very calming, very nice to have a complete set.

I don't think anyone can complain about these wearing thin, we've had cups being filled with boiling water for months.

Little observation from the the second Zog ident, first aired at 10.50 (or 11.40 for viewers in Wales). There's a 'Gasp' there on all nations so far, except for Scotland which is instead silent at this point. Are there going to be two slight variations of it floating around in general?

Really love how the Christmas trees in the 'news-safe' idents are the focal point of the 'main' idents - it means the whole set ties in really well

Ident launch and the junction

The 'This Christmas' text at the end of the trail appears to be a variant of Johnston, the London Underground font. (A close relation, in typography terms, of Gill Sans)

I think there's a small generation gap of people (around their 30s, and maybe their own parents' generation) who are too old to have been brought up with Donaldson/Scheffler's works and too young to have small people in their life to read them to.
