It's fine. It's obviously adorable. Nothing wrong with it. Something original would have been nice, but this is the Oneness era, you take what you can get.
My first thoughts are that the flying Zog Ident doesn’t feel that festive and I was a little disappointed when it initially aired; as Brekkie pointed out it could be that the Ident features music that which doesn’t come across as Christmassy.
The other idents though have been lovely and have struck the right chord for me with the visual items and music. Very well done.
The daytime version of the news-safe tree ident from the other nations this morning, with BBC One Scotland including an appropriate greeting for St Andrew's Day.
I think the BBC ONE logo would even have looked nice in the centre of the screen for that news safe ident, that way the star would have been in the circle of the O and it wouldn't obscure the tree and blend in slightly with the snow.
Then again, I don't like the horizontal BBC One logo and wish they stacked it like they do with BBC TWO.
Overall I like the set, but the ones that don't feature the characters and have just a nice image of a tree or forest scene with the music are much better. Planning an entire set around an established character never sat right with me, it runs the risk of becoming too limited and repetitive too quickly, not to mention it comes across as overdue promotion / advertising for one show in particular above all others. The Christmas 2001 package got that balance right, with programmes being referenced in the idents and stings through flying balloons but nothing was given prominence and it had nice scenery and music to accompany it.

I reckon these are the best Christmas idents they've had in years. Very festive - and I'm glad they've gone for some escapism rather than people eating Christmas dinner on Zoom.
I'd have loved a higher ratio of normal idents to news idents as there are so many other Julia Donaldson films they could draw on, but that's only a minor quibble.

I was hoping they might have included a Stick Man ident, given that this story is specifically set at Christmas. But I have to say my overall opinion of these Christmas idents is that they are lovely.
I remember the classy idents of 2017. Then look what happened the following year. Dull and Drab. I realise it's futile speculating on next year, but let's hope we don't get one good year and then two drab ones, which seems to be the case. Although, I quite liked last year's, except for the one with the woman in the bed.
If we only get one life, why does it take several attempts to get it right?

And no doubt he isn't happy that BBC2 aren't adding any new idents this Christmas.
And if the Radio Times describes its double issue as legendary, well...
Looks like this years Radio Times features something as seen on the 2017 edition. Didn't want to put it up as a spoiler but look like they are going for similar artwork year on year.
