I quite liked the BBC Northern Ireland advent calendar. That was a nice touch.

I agree; a very nice idea there.

Indeed it is .... if it was me (and they could), I think I'd be playing this up...

Well then... I think you should stay tuned. Wink

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this is wrong - you'd think the idents would be curtain raisers...

All of the BBC One promos and idents have been made in 3D also (see clip below).

If you find the official BBC One clips on YouTube, use Keep Vid and download them there are versions in 3D.

Having thought about it, they had the perfect match last night in my opinion. One of the most boring idents of BBC One Christmas Pres ever. Perhaps this could be the biggest hint that the circles are on their way out?

Having said this it was only right that they equally had the boring Phil Vowels on continuity last night to present them. While some might not agree, this is my take on it all

This is ITV1's last Christmas with their current look and they've gone all out this year.

That one above is just on a random user account. There seems to be hardly any 3D depth at all, and what there is looks like the rubbishy automatic fake stuff you get all over the place.

Try changing the 3D settings.

No, you've just applied the retrospective YouTube "3D"-ifier tool, you kidder.

I don't follow the thinking - 'It's Showtime!'...but the show's over? I could understand if the curtains opened, revealed an interesting character/animation/mechanical model and then closed but this is just rubbish.

...*unless* it's building towards a grand reveal closer to Christmas, gift-wrapped 1991-era "1" style?

Possibly a stretch...

However - if not that, at the very least, surely the curtain will rise into the programmes of the respective idents? Especially if the idea at this point is that the show hasn't yet started - they're currently getting thing ready - then I feel that on the day, it must do.

On Christmas Day, for example: the Shrek ident plays - where he's told 'it's Showtime' and exits to get ready - and then appropriately transitions to show the curtain raising as Shrek Forever After starts.

If they haven't thought of that, they've completely missed a trick to realise the whole Showtime idea.
