Just a wee note that it has been confirmed by someone who asked over on BBC One's Facebook page and all the speculation was right, anyone heard anything what it is yet?

And will there be more than 1 Ident, like last years

They were putting up Christmas posters outside TVC reception today. One was Miranda with Matt Smith, and then there were individual ones for Mrs Brown, EastEnders and Call the Midwife. I think they were indoors and next to a Christmas tree, don't know if that's a nod to the idents but if they are it seems like it won't be much different to last year's set.

I think it's safe to expect at least a 'news' symbol version as well - usually something slower or more generic - as has been the case for BBC 1 Christmas pres over the past decade. IMO, those versions often turn out to be the best.

Dubious during the dancers era - there's nothing quite like kids bobbing up and down into the news about a deadly tsunami! Thankfully lessons seem to have been learnt.

Surprised they're going for 7pm if the whole point is to start Christmas during the show but short of making a song and dance about unveiling the ident Going Live style I guess it may as well introduce proceedings. Nice to see TVC will probably be getting a lot of attention anyway.

Just some more information coming through that certainly surprised myself with regards to the idents

The through-the-line campaign features a 30” teaser, two 60” edits and a suite of shorter 20” edits in addition to seven new BBC One idents and a host of branded trails created by RKCR/Y&R and Red Bee Media. BBC One’s on-screen presence will be enhanced with the continuity of dedicated voice-overs and a consistent backdrop of Christmas branding. You might even see Shrek blowing kisses under the mistletoe!

Classic Marketing gibberish. Doesn't make a word of sense.

And I wouldn't get too excited about the "seven new idents"...

Exactly my thoughts when reading that quoted bit. What does it say that couldn't also be applied to any of the Christmas pres from years previous? So broad and vague as to have no meaning at all.

Not massively enthused by any of what I've seen so far, I must say. Thank goodness my expectations were low this year.

For once ITV makes more of an effort to Christmas presentation than BBC One? Shock.
