I think people will put up with an ident more if it's good. You get bored of it but you don't mind seeing it. When it's crap it does my head in. That bloody snowflake monstrosity for example that they had the audacity to give us two years in a row!!! Dear God in heaven!!

Indeed, why God in heaven, why, how could you, why oh why. But you don't have to worry about it this year now cylon.

And I won't mind seeing the BBC2 ident again this Christmas as I thought it was rather good. They could have come up with another animation for the little sprite for this year though.

Are you sure?

This is just getting silly now. They've been debuting the christmas idents a day earlier since 2001. It would make much more sense (Oh, sorry I forgot - the BBC doesn't have much sense) to first show it on Saturday 20th, as they did in 2003. If this is the case, there will be a mighty twelve days before Christmas day of the festive presentation.

If this carries on, come 2019 the idents will be airing on Saturday 30th November.

Well I wouldn't be saying otherwise Rolling Eyes

Well no, I thought you were just following the pattern of previous years at first.

If it's the case that they're launching on Saturday 13th because it's not as late as Saturday 20th, why on earth do the BBC insist on debuting the idents on a Saturday evening? I mean, would it hurt to air them first on the 18th just because it's a Thursday?

I wonder how much money it costs stations to produce Christmas idents.

The reason I'm asking is because if it costs quite a bit to make and produce them and a lot of time and effort has gone into them then I can understand why they'd want to give them a good airing rather to get their moneys worth.

Starter for ten .. Is it because you don't bother reading the thread before you simply paste a URL?

Jeez, tone the angry talk down a bit!

I know it might be annoying to get the link posted again, but he is just helping us out and sharing something he's found. I don't always find time to read the whole thread, and I don't believe there could be anyone on this forum who has read every comment in every thread before posting.

If you bite his head off, he might not post something else he finds and we won't see it. A simple 'Thanks, but it's already been posted' would suffice.
