I think its more linked with the new W&G film than the idents. The idents are merely another promotional tool for the new film.

I think its more linked with the new W&G film than the idents. The idents are merely another promotional tool for the new film.

I also think the 13th is too early
Are they really going to say "and Christmas starts here on BBC1 so lets' bring on the wall" on the 13th
The whole point of the idents was supposed to be to make it special around Christmas itself, not 2 weeks before, we will be bored of them by Christmas Day
It means we will also lose the Saturday night ident during some of BBC1's most important Saturdays

well weither we like it or not the bottom line is its first TX is on the 13th, yes i must admit i will get sick of it before it gets taken off again but we'll need to see what the ident is like first

Well the good thing is that it'll give me lots of opprotunities to record the idents and add them to my collection. It was much better than the dark days of the idents only being on from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day. And the really dark days in 1989 & 1990 when you had to wait until the evening on Christmas Eve to see the idents!!!
