It's always a weird and sad feeling for me when the channels return to normal pres. Sad

BBC1 Scotland returned to normal presentation today as well as network. So it's goodbye Wallace & Gromit.

A sort of profound and immediate feeling of intense satisfaction followed by a swelling void of shame, guilt, and loneliness?

It's still Christmas here in the North East; Winter Wonderland into the Six O'Clock News.

I've not been able to get on here for a few months so here's my two pennies worth of the Christmas idents.

I liked the overall idea of this year's ident and it was good to have a simple and festively light-hearted symbol for this year. What I was pleased to see, however, was a different news ident, avoiding any frivilous action and instead being relatively serious.

The only criticism I have is the length it was shown. I first saw it on the 13th December (IIRC) which means it was on a three week run before eventually disappearing. Although the ident was good, it was far too long a duration for a single ident to be used for almost every programme, especially when it is Christmas themed (and the 13th is too early for the television to be marking it IMO).

Good effort this year and I'd say the best Christmas ident we've seen on BBC One in at least five years.

Funny to think how we coped in the days of the globe, with the same ident before every programme for years on end. Wink

Shocked

Just goes to show that the first main ident group I grew up with were the balloons. What variety there was then!

I'm the opposite, whilst I can't understand the amount of time and trouble that would have gone into this but I got bored with this ident after two outgoings and this back on the 13th, my money was on the ITV effort this year which I enjoyed watching each time I happened to watch and ITV programme at Christmas (no cheeky comment!)
