I found an article about the making of Tai Chi, complete with photos. The Martin Shaw lookalike, Malcolm Pollock, has also been a tai chi consultant for Monarch Of The Glen...if only I could remember the link!

I've also heard from a rugby player who appeared in Haka.

Fair enough. Are the women in the Festival ident professional ravers?

Clean (but not full) run of the ident just played before Holby City then. Don't you just love it when they treat us like this at christmas?

Did anyone manage to capture this playout?

From what I gather the only difference is that the one for the news doesn't start with a close up on a kid. Was last year's one different for the news as well? The snowflake one obviously had two variations, a slightly slower one to introduce the news but last year's I just can't remember.

i'm surprised because the i wouldn't have thought the generic "six o'clock news with ? and ?" announcement would make much sense without integrated headlines - where as the midlands " ... followed in 20 minutes by ..." does.

We had a normal one at 10.10pm tonight as well "This is BBC1 in Yorkshire and the North Midlands, now the news at 10 o'clock with Fiona Bruce and Harry Gration"

Very surprised no-one has mentioned this link from Red Bee Media:

http://www.redbeemedia.com/press/2005/christmas_ident.shtml

This should answer most of our questions about the Christmas idents on BBC1, BBC2 and BBC4. The music for BBC1 was sung by nine boys from the London Oratory Choir, and there are 25 children in the ident.
