Oh yeah, losing everything right, left and centre, although it was good having a clean feed broadcast. Am I right in thinking 1's still having problems?

Clean (but not full) run of the ident just played before Holby City then. Don't you just love it when they treat us like this at christmas?

Just a poor do there are no idents before Look North itself thesedays.
We don't get to hear the sinister music as a bed under the introduction
Agreed. Have you got any caps of Yorkshire's version of the ident, Andrew?

All news junctions for BBC1 Yorkshire have used the Christmas ident. Even the "Yorkshire" text in the red box sparkles!

Not to mention that children and members of the public don't have to be paid each time the ident comes on, unlike professional ac-tors (making them the last bastion of restrictive practices). That is why a child, namely Carole Hersee, was used in Test Card F as opposed to a model.

I do like this because... well, it's not over reliant on red and that's a good thing. Forget the kids, half of the arguments against it come down to that and quite simply that's the weakest reason to hate it as it does have to fit in with the whole BBC One ident package which involves dancing wether you like it or not, kids work better than adults so don't use that.

So the 'celebs' in the ITV1 idents got paid every time they aired? I would find that surprising.

No they didn't, ITV invoked a clause in their contracts requiring them to "make themselves available for reasonable promotional activity".

That makes sense. But surely the people in the BBC One symbols are professionals, not members of the public? And children can be actors, I believe?

They are professionals at their chosen discipline, but not as TV performers. Of course children can be actors; though many do not follow it through into adulthood. Either way, by virtue of their age they aren't under the influence of Equity or other such bodies.

I found an article about the making of Tai Chi, complete with photos. The Martin Shaw lookalike, Malcolm Pollock, has also been a tai chi consultant for Monarch Of The Glen...if only I could remember the link!
I've also heard from a rugby player who appeared in Haka.

Fair enough. Are the women in the Festival ident professional ravers?
