Well it's certainly the most imaginative since they went with the dancers. However the music doesn't sound much like Christmas, more like The Nightmare before Christmas. They should have had an ident like this if they were going to show Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I still think it's better than the previous kids ones, but it isn't a patch on what they did with the balloon or the'1' logo.

I do like this because... well, it's not over reliant on red and that's a good thing. Forget the kids, half of the arguments against it come down to that and quite simply that's the weakest reason to hate it as it does have to fit in with the whole BBC One ident package which involves dancing wether you like it or not, kids work better than adults so don't use that. So fine, it's not quite a Father Christmas aurora boarealis-alike vision, the balloon at any point in time whatsoever or snowfolk rotating on a turntable but for some almost anything probably won't be.

I think this is a much better improvement - the last three Christmas idents have done my head in! I will agree they are still not the best but I prefer them.

How underwhelming. I most certainly do NOT feel Christmassy after watching it. I really get the impression noone cares this year, BBC2 is a bit of a let-down as well I reckon.
Bah humbug.
Bah humbug.

Well, what can we expect from a Christmas ident, when it has to be based on 'rhythm and movement'.
This ident has balloons, (think hot-air-globe) dancing children, and much less red, and i can't help feeling that they are messing up the conventions here. Perhaps as a way of saying goodbye to both the ballon and dancers forever, and moving on to a new era of (hopefully Channel 4 quality) idents.
So what i'm saying really is that BBC1 seem a lot less stringent on the content of the idents. But is this really a good idea?
And do we think there will be a new addition to the current idents, as usual, this year? (I'd say 'No', now that Fincham is in control, but on the other hand, we need something to shake things up. I'm sick of 'chavs' already.)

I would rather have the snowflakes and the puddings instead of that so that shows i dont like it!
