We had a normal one at 10.10pm tonight as well "This is BBC1 in Yorkshire and the North Midlands, now the news at
10 o'clock
with Fiona Bruce and Harry Gration"
And again at six this evening. It's great to see the regional versions again after Christmas Day. Last year they were gone after December 23.
That's good, perhaps I'll get NE & Cumbria after a previous failed attempt.
So when to the Christmas idents finish, Sunday or Monday?
I'd expect Tuesday, no doubt after Breakfast, as I saw a promotion for a programme on Tuesday night with usual BBC One presentation.
One question that does need to be asked though is: 'are we going to get a new BBC One ident to launch the new year?' baring in mind we had Masai in 2004 and Tumbler in 2005.
If that's so, I can't say I'm surprised; the idents seem to be on their way out -- I'd have said there should be a new ident to kick off 2006, but there isn't much point in updating if a rebrand will take place before the end of the (upcoming) year.
It's anyone's guess, but should a change of look happen, there's no way of knowing it'll be any better than what we've got now. I want something other than little kids prancing about for next year's Xmas ident. Preferably without any humans at all, TBH.

They sould have had a new look in place for the new year, that's how I would have done it.

More time is probably needed to develop and execute the ideas? Perhaps the start of the 2006 Autumn season will see the passing of the dancers?
As seen as we aren't getting a new ident this year, I think it is pretty much confirmation that there will be a rebrand in 2006, all though speculation did tell us a rebrand was on the cards anyway.
I think the best way forward is to use the number 1 in different famous locations across the world, such as at The Great Wall of China, Big Ben, though I am almost sure that people won't be the main theme of the idents considering that the current idents involve people as the main theme and are being ditched after just four years.

Nice effort from Yorkshire last night at 10:40pm.

Yes, I think it will be January 3rd as well. A promotion for bank holiday Monday used the festive package, but one for Tuesday used the normal graphics.
Shame about there being no new ident. Well, OK maybe not!
