January 2019 will mark six years of the current ITV look and idents. I wonder how long they will maintain the look?

The last ITV logo from 2006 lasted for seven years and many incarnations, especially for ITV1.

The current ITV logo has lasted six years and just one incarnation for its main channel. And I don't think a total revamp is even still needed for a while yet.

I feel a mini refresh may be needed soon-ish, though I'd say that's more a priority for ITV News than anything. The current branding is still particularly strong, it's just some cobwebs could do with dusting.

ITV News does need a refresh in 2019. It should not be too difficult, as they are 99% virtual green screen, and it would be good if they could have a better newsroom view. Bit more realistic, maybe using their ITN atrium view, as the current news studio looked fine in 2013, but 2018 it just looks very tired and cheap.

I can't think of any other way of wording it - what a load of nonsense. The virtual set looks good, they've made subtle tweaks to allow for instant changes of the side screens, and the quality of the virtual set is obvious to see - still far superior to the BBC's Studio A effort.

Why would they go back 10 years to an atrium view?

The real view has done alright for Channel 4 News since 1999, just saying. This is my opinion. I have noticed on here, we seem not to be allowed opinions which differ from others. Amazing, as this is supposed to be a forum for views and opinions. This was my view, it still is my view, and I am just expressing it. I think little tweaks and changes to the ITV News set design is required. Also, where did I say BBC's virtual studio was better? I didn't, theirs are awful, for all the money they have, much more than ITN.

How quickly a thread about BBC Christmas Presentation morphs into a thread about ITV News and the general ITV idents.

Back on topic, the font used on the BBC Promo is just the BBC One font but with a bit of stylisation.

Just a thought, but if some are hoping that the Christmas pres brings an end to Oneness, would they have created six new idents in July to last just five months? Also last year they had a form of Times New Roman font in their Christmas promo film. I honk it will be most definitely continuing. I also think the promo we saw last night could be the News Ident.

I hope to god Oneness is ditched next year. The fact that other channels (SRF1 in Switzerland and DR1 in Denmark comes to mind) have created far superior idents is shocking. Hopefully, the BBC responds to the complaints and gives us something new.

So a pre-SCD launch tomorrow then! I think the last time they premiered the idents before Strictly was 2013?

Big audience, possibly ten million will be waiting to watch Strictly, so we will have the ident before Strictly, and then Christmas trailers after it.

Perhaps the 'one' morphs in or out of the 'ond' in Wonderland.

It doesn't even look like the BBC One font modified, it looks like its own separate font.
