Second BBC One ident of the evening!

Lovely ident.

A lovely scene of the tree (even if that shot seems lower res than the logo); I wonder if we will see a few variants, all the crowd coming together as seen in the film/promotion possibly. Let's hope that it isn't from the reverse angle having everybody staring at the viewers but motionless!

There was also a bumper with bumper cars used between trailers.

I love the music too. It's nice to have some music on BBC One idents again.

Jeffmister, ToasterMan and Custard56 gave kudos

The tree is better but they're both very lifeless. Also when the concept was first leaked a couple of months back I thought there might be more of a fantasy element to them - instead they're very much grounded in boring reality.

Vista used into News. No surprise there.

Different music for the Pier ident introducing the news plus another bumper.

Christmas Tree ident into Dad's Army over on Two.

(That's a little confusing now as both channels have 'tree' idents)

From studying idents of the 70s and 80s, I feel that there were similiarities between BBC one and BBC two Christmas ident though that was before the days of BBC one and two having their strong symbols such as the bladed 2

Vista into the news. This has obviously been made as the sombre ident of the lot in case a serious event happens, and will therefore be seen before the news a lot.

Both are fairly news safe really.

They just repeated the film again just in case you didn't catch the John Lewis-esque efforts of the almighty BBC.

And then we had a Bumper Cars ident.

Bah Humbug, what was wrong with starting Christmas idents at the Start of Children's TV on 24th December each year?
