I have not seen the ident as I am awaiting the ident's channel airing before I comment.

Doctor Who is BBC1's big programme over Christmas and features in the ident just like I said it would and just like Wallace & Gromit did last year and how BBC1 did with Ashes To Ashes. It's a great promotional device.

And it's funny how we can feel bored after seeing an ident for three weeks. When we watched this globe spinning around for 15 years.

That simply cannot be true, the ident link has been posted so you must therefore have looked. Wink

oh and as for idents being shown early like Doctor Who this year, Wallace & Gromit last year were shown just as early on YouTube... just W&G don't get an online Advent Calendar to help promote them Laughing

I remember last year Media Guardian revealing the Wallace and Gromit ident last year. I thought the ident last year wasn't as good as previous years on BBC1 and I still preferred their BBC2 effort. Very Happy

I remember last year Media Guardian revealing the Wallace and Gromit ident last year. I thought the ident last year wasn't as good as previous years on BBC1 and I still preferred their BBC2 effort. Very Happy


I think the difference between the campaigns were different target audiences... something I'm sure will be the scenario again this year. BBC Two's campaign always tries to create a more sophisitcated feel, whilst BBC One will always go down the family entertainment route.

What a poorly constructed post my earlier one was!!! Shocked

What I was trying to say was that I thought Wallace and Gromit's BBC2 ident was better than the BBC1 ident they featured in last year. They do less in the BBC2 ident but I just prefer it. BBC2's Christmas idents usually have a more upmarket feel to them generally. This BBC2 ident from 1993 is a particular favourite of mine and won a BAFTA for Best Graphic Design.

I didn't look via that link but somebody posted it up on YouTube and ... er... yeah... I saw it there. Surprisingly good. Not a lot of warmth to the ident (ooh I do like a warm festive ident Wink ) but still good.
