Interesting junction into the One Show there!

I was watching BBC One HD. The Waterloo Road promo went to a football fixture list, then after 10 seconds the BBC One fault caption. The announcer apologised, the One Show titles 'still' came up and you heard them in the studio saying they're starting early. I think the announcer then announced and the One Show started.

Meanwhile BBC One Scotland were showing a fireworks public service advert and so missed the hasty start of the One Show completely, can't remember if the One Show was announced but we saw a second of the rotating glass BBC thing, then straight into the One Show, where Chris Evans was already talking.

What happened in your region?

In the South East, BBC South East Today finished and we got a silent shot of the presenters chatting on the sofa for about 30 seconds. They then changed to a full screen South East Today caption before joining the BBC One fault caption with a VO followed by music. The music continued while we looked at the first frame of The One Show opening titles, the music faded and we heard someone in The One Show studio telling everyone they were coming on air early followed by cheering. A CA, still over the frozen first frame of The One Show then said "Now on BBC One, its time for this..." and The One Show titles started playing.

Judging by the 'Remind me' icons that appeared over the breakdown, we missed trailers for MasterChef: The Professionals which is on Monday at 20:30 and Live at The Apollo which is on at 21:30 tonight.

In the South, we had a 30 second animated but silent endcap for BBC South Today.

The One Show was missing subtitles for the first few seconds.

What did nations and HD do? What was on the sustaining feed during the regional programmes this evening?

Sounds like South East Tonight stayed on air until the breakdown caption appeared. Look North opted back in as normal and were greeted to about 30 secs of a frozen football fixture image from the BBC News Channel with a frozen ticker and the clock showing a time from about 15 minutes previous.

Looks like the network messed up, the English regions were hanging around, so network went to the One Show, but forgot about Scotland (and maybe Wales and NI) Smile

Midlands Today stayed on air until the Midlands Today caption finished playing, overlaid the copyright caption on network for 2 seconds then crashed into the apology caption

Is it time that BBC One (and the other BBC Channels) changed their caption from "We are sorry for the break in this programme" to "We are sorry for the break in this channel" as it seems quite common for breakdowns to occur between programmes rather than during programmes.

Instead of 'channel' maybe change it to read :

"We are sorry for the break in this broadcast"

or

"We are sorry for the break in transmission"

Just sounds nicer in my opinion. Though I agree they should either change the slide or have 2 for breakdowns : one for programmes and one for junction faults.

TV Forum has enough members to get clips from all regions, all nations and HD. Sadly, I think I will probably be the only one who bothers to upload anything. Prove me wrong.
