Could be another big ratings night for ITV News again. It got 8m last night. And it's after I'm a Celeb again, a great lead in.
Looks like the NaT will be late tonight.

Eastenders is only 20 minutes long these days. It is just scheduled in a 25 minute slot each time.
How is it now only 6 minutes down? Have I missed something where time was re-gained?
Also am expecting a "Tonight at 10:06" from Huw tonight

I guess Wales had their own copy of Eastenders as it was played out after Network/Scotland started.
Could this have been possible?
8:05pm - Wales playout their copy of Eastenders, while N.I. play their copy (as we've seen they did!)
8:30pm - Wales ident, then opt into BBC One N.I. while they playout Panorama so both BBC One Wales and BBC One N.I. seeing the same feed then.
Wales call Belfast and agree the N.I. announcer does not talk over the Panorama credits as this feed is showing in both nations now.
9:00pm - Wales and N.I. show their own branded trailers while waiting for Network.
9:06pm - Wales, N.I. and Network all in sync again.
Wales would have tried to record Panorama off London's playout hence Al's problem. NI had a copy as it's their programme. I believe the problem was down to a timecode issue

In theory, had Wales put out EastEnders on time, but Wales were a good few minutes behind Network before crashing into WILTY, and even further behind NI.
NI ended up well ahead of Network having put out EastEnders at the correct time.

Network had a PIF ahead of EastEnders too.
I apologize for asking, but what is a PIF? (thanks in advance)
Credit to BBC One NI for keeping the show on the road while a car crash happened all around them.
Wales made the biggest dogs dinner out of all of this.....10 minute filler, a Welsh public service announcement when Network started the delayed Eastenders, then ending up having to crash into 'Would I lie to you' already started.

Theoretically yes, but at that moment probably not.
I may be wrong but it's unlikely the nations have the presentation output (or any feed) from the other nations routed to them, unless it's something that's been arranged ahead of time.
It also would have required a lot of co-ordination between the nations, which is easier said then done when they're all busy reacting to what's happening in London and trying to work out themselves how they deal with it.
Coding and Mux do have full capability to switch around the regions and nations, as has been done in the past when a nation is having trouble and another nation has taken over. For example they could have switched NI's output to the rest of the UK, but that involves a whole load of politics, so it's not something they would do unless instructed to.

A) No, Wales would not have had a feed from Belfast. B) Wales would have acquired a copy in advance for timing reasons.

No reason why not. But then you wrote that from the calmness of your living room, after the event, knowing the series of events already.
It's easy in hindsight, totally different at the thick of it
