Just caught an Easter Weekend highlights trailer on BBC One (normal |B|B|C| ONE by the way!). Very people/lifestyle orintated - not sure about the people smashing easter eggs and lights coming out of it but hey!
And Mike, you've changed your story on TV Room!! Good Friday now in doubt?

I bet it's a double-branded trailer. i.e. two edits made, one with |B|B|C| ONE and one with 'the box'.
Nearly every crossover has shown trailers for after-crossover programmes, in pre-crossover style.
Does anybody remember the old 'door and wall' backdrop used on BBC1 trailers in January/February 1991, which started off with the red COW-style BBC1 in the top-right, but was modified slightly post-COW by removing the red BBC1 and replacing it with the white stripey

well it does use a blue colour scheme, and light red and light blue are the supposed colour scheme for BBC One
Asa: And Mike, you've changed your story on TV Room!! Good Friday now in doubt?
Nothing extraordinary about this. The date for the BBC TWO relaunch changed c. three times. It's never usually that wise to comment on these things until some sort of official statement is made. The word on the street...well, 'Easter Weekend' at the moment rather than Good Friday.

I think that's ashame - red and yellow is a much nicer and warmer combination that suits BBC One better.
I hope they ( I know you'll all hate me for this) get rid of the clock. Its so dated.
Anyway, saw the Easter promo and thought I wonder if they will this year have (for the first time) an Easter ident, and thus loose the balloon on Maundy Thursday. Introduce easter ident Good friday and then the new look from the tuesday after easter monday.
I have seen poster ads for the new image, and it basically says
THE
ONE.

I have a brilliant idea...
How about a menu, like what sky news used to have whilst they give the usual announcement, that would look really good, maybe even a BBC News remix of the BBC One theme, if there is one!!!

What do you all think?
Hmm, or do you mean maybe like Sky One used to do with the menu before the ident? Yeah, maybe it could work...
Don't you think it seems like they introduced those trails which the announcers voiceover live so that the announcers have something else to do? They used to have still slides and all sorts of things in a junction, but these days without those live trails they'd just have the 6 seconds to voiceover idents, and then the occasional helpline or complaint, and the rest of the time just be on standby for breakdowns and schedule changes. So I'm fairly certain they'll continue that and have interesting things for the announcers to do in the new look.
As for Easter idents, it'd certainly be a first for the BBC (Carlton used to always do it!), but maybe it'd be a way to have the red box and the balloon together for one final time, or something like that, although I doubt they'd do something like that. They want a hard launch for the new BBC ONE brand, not a soft launch. Advertising, programming (Man & Boy on Easter Saturday) and presentation will all go together.
EDIT: Ohhh, you meant for the news! I like the mock, though. Hmm, but I'm not sure if in the context of the BBC ONE news (as opposed to a 24-hour channel) the headlines in text followed by the headlines spoken might look a bit odd. It'd steal Huw's thunder too! I like the idea though.
