(besides - 1st January would in a way seem quite a logical date to make a change such as this, perhaps?)
When I was younger, every year on 1st January I used to switch on BBC1 to see if they'd finally got rid of the mirror globe - then thinking that New Year's Day would be a logical date to change it. In the end, of course, it went on 18th February.

But I wonder if they might bring out some more of the new BBC2 idents when the Christmas one goes.

Nice to see BBC ONE & TWO using their Xmas Idents longer. BBC ONE has really done well with programmes and idents this year! I think we may see some more new 2s in February, although we know there going to be the boring yellow colour, it will be nice to see some more variety! I think the balloons should stay for a while and adapt a red box! It's better than loosing the balloons altogether!Smile

What about having square balloons? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif

I think that Aardman Animations, BBC Creative Services and BBC Media Arc have done an excellent job with the work on the BBC ONE Xmas ident, even incorporating the balloon much better than the ident used for Xmas last year.

As for the BBC TWO ident, it was creative and had a Christmas feel to it, but I think Lambie Nairn could have been a bit flexible with the use of colour and slightly moved away from the white and yellow colour scheme used on the usual idents.

Love the detail on the BBC ONE idents.

Only just noticed, but if you look really closely at the dog(especially) during the idents when the other two chracters are 'centre-stage', it's really quite funny.

I love how it gets startled and 'wakes up' when Del Boy's van backfires!  Classic idents from the Beeb.

Liked last years BBC ONE main ident too though.  Very traditional.
