FWIW BBC Two had their Christmas one into One Man at 7pm although it did a
very
quick flick through what seemed to be some trails straight out of Strictly for a split second.
Nice to see the decision to use the ident music on a loop has been reversed anyway.
I'm guessing that, as the fault affected all BBC channels played out by Red Bee, it was something that either affected all the Omneon playout servers or perhaps the core of the Colossus automation system.
They were still able to cut manually, on the mixer, to the breakdown loop (which is played off a Geevs server).
I have to say that Dean handled it all very nicely.
BBC 1 NI stayed with network for the breakdown, which is fair enough, as they were already with network for CBBC on ONE. I'd guess too that Weakest Link was played off tape.
The 6pm junctions on BBC 1 and BBC 2, as described here, would indeed lead you to believe that they came from the DR site, allowing engineers to get on with sorting the problems in the Broadcast Centre.

Unless I've got really confused between the different feeds, a regular ident went out on BBC Two England DSat?
EDIT: Strangely BBC Two Scotland just used the network anno into One Man and his Dog, but preceded it with a Scotland branded trail. Something very strange is going on!
That practice, while rather strange, is not uncommon for BBC Two Scotland.

BBC Two showing generic idents into One Man and His Dog part 2. Wonder if we'll see the return of the Christmas idents?
