It would be wicked to have the news 24 flag as a desktop wallpaper, but i wouldnt want the bbc logo as people would think im sad if my desktop wallpaper said 'BBC NEWS 24'. If someone has the flags on tape could they capture it just before the news 24 logo appears. It would be good to have the bbc balloon as well. I also have a bigger desktop size than 800x600 so the bigger the better.

BBCnewsemployee is there anyone you know that does have access, or could you just wander off in your lunch break, If the balloon is going to go, all that material is going to be re-dundant, please try to get as much of anything especially the DALET files, before it is no longer in current use, and almost totally impossible to get copies of unless you work in the BBC Archives.
Thats the problem ive got. i used to have the complete flags on the hour on tape, the whole one minute 30 sec version from one of the very first transmissions on news 24 on BBC one. I was destined to keep it but typically the tape machine had it for dinner. I was severly pissed as it had the original picture they used to show over the flag instead of whats coming up. (remember it used to say in about size 80 font ' BBC NEWS ONLINE AT WWW.BBC.CO.UK') it then changed a few weeks later to show pictures of news stories of the day. then again changed a few weeks later to the coming up screen. I still have the odd bit of news 24 flags on tape somewhere im sure of it.
I once had a tape labelled 'Signs 2' (god knows where 'Signs 1' was!) and it had a load of stuff I taped of signs (or logos or idents as I now know them to be!) but when I found it again last year, it had been taped over by some film I can't really remember what was on the tape anyway!
Does anyone actually know how they made the flags logo? Did they just fly the flag next to a fan and stick a camera in front or was it complete computer generation? i would love to know if it is possible to actually get a computer program that can do this type of graphics.
Does anyone have a freeze of the BBC Ballon background thats used to show the line up for the evening? I would like to have a still of the red background without any text on it
