is the bbc one balloon getting scapped or not?

Back in January we all heard that Lorraine Heggesey, controller of BBC 1, was scapping the balloon. Does anyone know if BBC One is going to get a new identity soon?

Short answer: no.

Nobody has a clue. Pure speculation. Lets wait and see what happens.

In answer to the intial question asked:

My friend who works at the BBC, well more of family friend - but hey - hinted (quite badly) January. when I asked him, he said 'No chance in hell am i going to hell am i going to tell you if and when BBC gets a new look.' I then ignored him - how rude!
But then about 10mins later he said 'Nik' I said what...
...he then said nothing. (i thought at that point this was typical of dillusional BBC staff), but then he coughed JANUARY in his cough, then laughed, he then said 'Tum tee tum'

The moral of that is:
JANUARY ????

Lorraine Heggessy did not say she was scrapping the balloons, she merely stated in an interview that she felt the idents to be 'slow' and out of touch with viewers - and that the situation was under review.

But we have as yet no firm evidence at all that there will definitely be any change in BBC1 or BBC2 presentation in the near future. There might be...but then again there might not...

BTW, if the balloons ARE getting scrapped in the UK, send them over to Canada! I'm sure FELIX would like a trip around the Rocky Mountains.
