What can I say about the ident for 'Africa' apart from.... bloody sh!t!!

Seriously they didn't even try? I thought the impressive promo before it was going to lead into an ident (a bit like the long christmas ident from 2011), but nope.

Sorry wasn't able to capture it, but basically it was just a high shot of lots of flamingos! No effort at a circle even!

Well, that was bit poor wasn't it, compared to Planet Earth or Planet Dinosaur.

Ireland had a full length Hippos ident.

BBC NI knowing what's best again and not showing what has to be one of the worst efforts from BBC One.

Well that was worth it. Sad

Chris, I concur. I think pres at BBC NI made the right decision.

(Though they could have shown their duck ident Wink )

The Africa sequence doesn't even feature a circle in the shot - just some footage with the logo overlaid. That's no proper ident.

Take the BBC One swoosh and logo away, and you'd think it was a programme clip. Sounds like NI made a better playout choice...

On the plus side, that 'Wonderful World' promo is very good, I've thought.

The new ident looks like something Sky 1 would come up with. If we are meant to be in the Circles era where is the circle?

So awful. "Love 2013" indeed...

The programme itself, Africa, was incredible! Such amazing cinematography throughout the whole show (as you'd expect), so you wonder how they couldn't get a decent circle shot somewhere during the series?

BBC One idents aren't what they used to be. Confused
