I read somewhere on here that BBC One was getting a new look or something like that, I think...

What is it on about, or am I wrong?

A while back there was a rumour BBC1 may dump the balloons, but this appears to have gone out of the window.

No, I think it'll happen when BBC 3 and 4 launch. BBC2 may change as well then - the last theme night only had one ident, there's usually more, and there's no I Love 1990's ident.

From recent the muffled rumbles I'm hearing from the BBC (They NEVER give you a straight answer!) BBC One & Two will be getting new idents soon - before the end of the year.

Never give a straight answer - that sounds like the BBC we all know!

End of the year? Hmm, seems a little early to me - I'd have thought spring at the earliest. Maybe someone should get Lambie-Nairn on the blower to ask if they've have any requests to draw up something new.

I see BBC Two closes on Sunday/Monday morning at 12.55am - I think that's the earliest this year. They could fill for a few mins then a clock with them talking about BBC radio and N24 then hitting a long Kebab(!!) ident at 1am exactly. Perfect.

Or alternatively, they could broadcast for about ten minutes 'The Best of Harry and Christa'! Enlighten the country of this Wonderful Twosome!

I don't care if they get rid of the balloons, but would miss the '2's.

The 2s are 10 years old - only the 2D colour idents of 1970's ITV lasted longer! (Border's lasted 19 years, Thames' 18 years!!)

The balloons are a bit dated now - I really do hope they are replaced with similar idents like the ones BBC Canada uses (shown below)

Whatever they use it'll include a globe. So no, BBC America/Canada's idents will not be used here. At least not on BBC1. BBC4 maybe?
