Has any English Region dropped/rescheduled the National News in the past?

We know at least one nation(Scotland) has done so.

Won't there be 'questions asked'?

BBC2 South opted out of the afternoon news updates on one occasion - for live coverage of the Clapham rail crash memorial service.

Not sure if you seen this (BBC One Controller Danny Cohen discusses Idents) but I though I post:

I would much appreciate if someone would please upload this to another source as videos on the BBC website can't be viewed internationally. Thanks

The Bafta programme on BBC One right now seems to be stuttering in places. How is this being broadcast? Is the event still happening at the moment? There have been a couple of very obvious edits so far but otherwise nothing too terrible.

Can't get it to another source but he was asked "are there any plans to change the idents as, sometimes in the past when a new controller takes over BBC 1 or 2 the idents are often revamped?" He replied that he thinks channel identity is something that needs to be refreshed but that they don't have any set plans yet do so just now, though will be thinking about It in the coming months. He then went on to say that if they do change them it will be in the most efficient and economical way they can. He says people appreciate the idents and "get a lot from them" and that by them being displayed thousands of times a year the BBC get a lot of value out of them. IMO it wasn't the most interesting clip ever so you haven't missed out on much. Hope this helps anyway!

I think both BAFTA awards shows are delayed and edited - but the TV show goes on-air before the event has finished - so it's quite tricky to manage. A few years ago there was a terrible junction where the same person walked up on stage twice...

This year there seemed to be some technical issues. There were some major vision disturbances - black lines running through shots, some drop out-type stuff with small flashing blocks. There were also some very obvious edits/cross-rolls - in one case a mix on a person getting up that was a few frames out.

No facilities credit at the end - but I don't think it was SIS (now including 021) or Visions - so probably either CTV or Arena (and I think I recognised a CTV name or two)

That's more or less it - they edit on the fly, and start playing out as the event is on-going. As it was such a tight turnaround, a few glitches made it on air.

You're right that it's a CTV OB.

Really like how the circle is formed from the environment the ident's based in.

That's very nice indeed; I really like the circle idents actually, they're very versatile clearly. I wonder if the rebrand/refresh will keep the circle theme in some way.

Is that a Northern Ireland only ident? I guess so considering the music is the same as forest - it's a shame because it is lovely.
