Ah, Jonny posted that exact continuity on the previous page; so unfortunately you were pipped to the post!

However for me only the 5 seconds play, even after downloading the raw .flv file, so thanks for uploading it to YouTube.
I saw the event itself on the live stream, but not how it played out on BBC One, nice to see what it looked like on BBC One.

Chris just replayed the audio back saying how they got it bang on only for someone else to have left the faders up! I guess Dean would have heard the audio continue in his headphones whilst battling to do his announcement?

Shame. Oh well, at least it worked ok in NI and Wales (not sure about Scotland).

Yes, a bit of a mess. A normal presentation item, even a live one would have silence at the end so they can get a clean 'out' and prevent any spurious audio. You can't do that with radio... if everyone in the studio shut up for a bit then there would be dead air on Radio 1 and in the words of Dave Clifton; dead air is a crime
I remember one of the problems with previous automation systems at the Beeb was 'stuck lag'. The computer would be set to carry the audio from an item into the next but it would get stuck on or partially on. I dunno whether this is an issue with the current system

Curiously BBC One HD was fine! Only just worked out what everyone's saying didn't work...

Chris and Dave have just done another link into the Big Red Nose Desert Trek on BBC One. No problems this time with leaving them on air!

Yeah they seemed to flip the ident and IVC round this time to avoid overlapping so both Wales and Network got through without any issues.

(With apologies for quality + only having BBC One Wales' version, though network was pretty much identical. Reinstalled the machine last week, and still not got the setup fully back to normality yet!)
