Was watching the EE omnibus earlier & the final half hour at the start where Phil was chasing the black guy(Sorry not a regular viewer thesedays!), did anyone spot an 'HD' symbol appear briefly in the bottom quarter of the picture?

Does anyone know who was tonight (31/12/10-01/01/11) BBC One continuity announcer? As they said it was there last day.

Trouble with the BBC Action Line graphics at the end of Eastenders tonight appearing in black and white almost looking like a background needed keying into it.

That wasn't trouble. That was by design. It has been like that throughout Christmas.

I also couldn't spot a jump. I thought there normally was when they squeezed the credits. The only exception I knew of was Inside Out where it is included in the playout copy pre-airing.

I seem to recall there was an incident a few months ago where a BBC Action Line graphic and VO was warrented but not used. Maybe they now record them on to the programme itself.

The credits can't be used again anyway since they contain graphics promoting the repeat showings on BBC Three and BBC HD.

In fact, the iPlayer version also includes the graphics so it seems very likely they are burnt in to the show itself.

Also posted this in the New Years thread, but here is the BBC One 2011 preview that aired just after New Year Live if anyone missed it.

Ah that would make sense as I'm sure I've seen the exact same end credits used on BBC Three so I imagine it saves them needing to remember the Action Line as well.

The action line caption was pre made on the credits by the production. This is because currently there is no DVE capability on BBC One HD

And why didn't they sort out the DVE on BBC One HD before launching?

DVEs on end credits are bloody awful. I'm glad they don't have it.
