It'll be interesting to see how things have changed. In particular, Anne Robinson's face.

Some things you'll notice in the first show that haven't survived (in approximate order of how long they lasted):

- Contestants taking it in turns to step up to a single podium in the final.
- Anne's original, wink-less sign-off.
- Questions cut off at the end of one round being used to start the next.
- The title actually being "The Weakest Link", and the logo therefore not having a bloody stupid gap at the top left where the "The" used to be.
- The pre-title sequence being in black and white as it should be.
- The credits rolling alongside the final interview, not after it.

Goodness me, did anything see that on BBC One? The news presenter rounded up her bulletin, left a very short delay and said, holding a piece of equipment, "Right, we need to get this bloody thing s..." at which point she was cut off by a BBC ident I have never seen before, which stayed on screen for about 30 seconds.

However, on the way into Bargain Hunt we had a BBC One ident, rather than a BBC ONE Scotland ident, so it's possible this may have been a Scotland-only issue.

Ooh they might roll round to my show in 2002 - unless they're only showing the first series.

They're only showing the first episode, and then a few of the specials for the rest of the week. And then, presumably, some new ones, although the amount of repeats is quite phenomenal and, to be honest, outrageous, because the loss of Neighbours gave BBC1 loads more flexibility at teatime and, apart from the odd week like Land Girls, for the past two and a half years, it's been Weakest Link day in day out, which is bone idle scheduling.

Of course, the day before The Weakest Link began, ITV launched The People Versus, which was hyped to the heavens and supposed to be the next Millionaire, only for it to flop massively (and rightly so, until 101 Ways started it was the slowest programme ever made) and the 'link, which wasn't even a choice in the Radio Times, became a smash hit.

Was it the BBC logo on the background of some clouds?

Apparently the photo of Mark's back garden has been replaced by the glass blocks from the DVDs.

A few more little things I noticed:
- Less studio lighting / more teal colourings
- Little ditty before the 'start the clock' sting
- Wobbly camera-work during contestant walk-offs/interviews (probably for dramatic effect at the time).

I remember seeing this image some months ago. Is that the official BBC One HD logo?

I always found it strange that the BBC logo isn't the same height as the 'one' text with the logo. It still looks strange when I look at it.

Do we have a confirmed date for launch? Can't be too long; it is autumn now after all!

The 'o' is in the middle that way. IMO it would look awful if it was all the same height.
