I note they're using England/world cup themed programme captions and seem to be using only the World Cup ident today.
I wonder if that's also the case in the nations? Smile

It's a nice ident that I hope they use after the World Cup for other sporting events like Formula One Wink

Oo-er. BBC One just went very juddery and black bar-esque with it's football coverage there. The audio started skipping too.

Is it me or have they changed the film on BBC One after the footy & the news?

Could've sworn it was 'Catch Me If You Can' , the Leonardo De Café De Monte, or whatever his name is , film, but it's now 'Bend It Like Beckham' !

Yes, at the time of posting this page still shows 'Catch Me If You Can' at 22:25. Obviously Bend it Like Beckham is a shorter film so they can get back on schedule after the football overruns. According to the Sky EPG, Northern Ireland are still getting 'Catch Me If You Can' at 11:20pm if you fancied watching it.

Sky Plussed it, so see what happens! Got a bit of stuff taping overnight so let's hope nothing clashes!

The BBC always do stupid things like that when schedules change, rather than simply delaying the schedule. They often end up putting subsequent programmes on earlier than originally billed too, meaning anyone tuning in specifically for them ends up missing half the show they were intending to watch.

Seems quite a sensible way to get back on to schedule to me, especially as they are actually showing programmes that people might want to watch tonight (as long as they don't mind in-vision signing) rather than just joining BBC News. Anyway, as PVRs and on-demand services become more and more mainstream it doesn't really matter if the schedule changes at the last minute. I'm more concerned about how bad the BBC are at updating the EPG sometimes rather than the fact that they have changed the schedule.

Did anyone catch the ending to Toy Story 2 on BBC One this evening? There was a short sting involving Mr Potato Head. Has this ever been shown before in previous showings of the Toy Story movies? I certainly don't recall seeing it before and I don't imagine it's a pre-cursor to anything special on BBC One as they're not showing the first movie, and certainly not the third anytime soon!

Here it is for those who missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PD2N_z9bYhc (not the best capture, IPhone filming TV screen!)
