Interesting ident, that World Cup one... (Aired at 1859)

I thought there might be a special World Cup themed one. Anybody managed to capture it yet?

Image grabs (how '00s) of the nations' variations are available on TV Live. I'll get a video later today.

Thanks for that. Looks quite good I must say. Must tune into BBC One at 2.30pm to see what it looks like. I'd like to see a Wimbledon themed ident one of these days as well.

Excellent to hear the crowd in tune with the 3 notes!

Good Ident, I hope they keep using it for sporting events after the world cup.

I like it too. Going to have to set my DVD/HDD recorder to record that next time it appears. Presumably that'll only be shown before World Cup matches.

BBC1 have a nice Wimbledon themed now and next board with tennis balls flying at the screen. Very nice.

It's not quite the same jingle is it? Instead of going (key of C) F - E - C with the root chord, it goes F - E - highC, with a 4th chord.

Surely the change of octave makes no difference? It's still the same really.

It's more similar than some of the old ones had. The likes of windows was really just F-E-F-E-F-E really quickly, fading out.

Looks like "The Big Questions" is having problems again, keeps glitching and cutting to black. Wonder if it will last the whole show this week.

EDIT: Just as I hit submit it's fallen off air and onto the BBC One apology caption

I note they're using England/world cup themed programme captions and seem to be using only the World Cup ident today.

I've never seen that small 'We apologise for the vision problems' caption before. Ironically, just as that appeared they had sound problems as well and went to the normal break down slide.

I notice that the CA was not subtitled today. I wonder if that is new policy. In the past, when a live programme comes off air due to problems, the CA is normally subtitled.

Did the programme make it to iPlayer last time it had these problems a couple of weeks ago? Why hasn't Nicky Campbell appeared on the programme since then?

Campbell is currently in South Africa for Five Live
