Lovely to see BBC One being taken over by sport today, practically 12:15 till midnight.
I assume you'd prefer an afternoon filled with Diagnosis Murder repeats? Saturday is traditionally sport day on BBC One, although I realise sport may not be to some people's taste. Thankfully, for those people there are many other channels with alternative offerings.
A couple of hours isn't bad, but a full afternoon and evening? There's really no need.
I don't enjoy sport - but it doesn't happen often and there will be a lot of people out there who will be enjoying the Six Nations. We will survive, it's not the end of the world.
Once digital switchover is complete, do we think BBC Sport will be side-lined to a digital channel such as BBC Three (or maybe a BBC Sport Channel/Red button) in order to avoid messing with BBC One schedules?
BBC One is and should remain a mixed-genre channel providing something for everyone. This does not mean providing something for everyone all the time.

Once digital switchover is complete, do we think Strictly Come Dancing/Andrew Lloyd-Webber "talent" shows etc will be side-lined to a digital channel such as BBC Three (or maybe a BBC Trash Channel/Red button) in order to avoid messing with BBC One schedules?
Come on, sport is often entertainment at its best and a core part of the BBC One schedule, as well as our nation's heritage.
Thought I'd point out; saw a rarity tonight after the ten o'clock news, a holding slide for The Politics Show. Haven't seen a holding slide for years.
There's a good chance you'll see them immediately after the late news on a Saturday for The Politics Show or Andrew Marr if there is a prominent guest is on, usually a party leader (in this case Nick Clegg).
They also pop up during regional news bulletins fairly regularly but it is rare to see them during junctions. They're sometimes used to promote Panorama too.
BBC2 slides are even more difficult to spot; their use is pretty much restricted to Schools continuity, which will soon be disappearing.

Erm...no need to be rude. I was only making an observation. And surely Strictly Come Dancing/Andrew Lloyd-Webber "talent" shows
are
the BBC One Schedule...?

In a word. No.
BBC One is going to remain the "mainstream" home of BBC programmes - and programmes like Strictly and the Lloyd-Webber selection shows rate very well. Can't see them being shunted off to a "youth-oriented" channel.
One of the major selling points of BBC One is that it IS flexible and reactive in its scheduling rather than a slave to it. "Murray's Magic Monday" is a case in point - where BBC One's schedule was binned to show us Andy Murray playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon with the roof shut.
Strange ending to The Sport Relief Mile Show. They finished with a montage but must have underrun as after the montage we were treated to several silent seconds of the presenters and guests sitting in the studio clapping before we saw the endcap.
The Super League show was shown at 11.25pm tonight on BBC ONE (North) followed by an edition of Yorks and Lincs Inside Out to fill the slot. Did anyone catch the announcement between the two, if there was one?
