Looks like the current BBC Two programme "The Triple Cross" is being simulcast on BBC One (Scotland at least) - someone obviously flipped the wrong switch! Rolling Eyes Laughing

EDIT: And we're back. That lasted at least five minutes...

Was there any mention of this from the CA at the end of whatever programme was on BBC One?

No mention at all (again I just speak for BBC Scotland) - not sure if it happened on network.

'Cowboy Trap' has been bumped tonight in favour of an extra half hour of The One Show, so they can talk about the snow some more.

Just one of the reasons why Screenwipe is better than Newswipe, Screenwipe can include comment on The One Show and indeed anything on TV including news, but Newswipe is limited to just news. Bring back Screenwipe.

I agree but no doubt Charlie could include this under 'excessive snow news'.

Following last night's networked ident into the News at Six, I would like to revise my sentiment that the Helicopter ident should be used for sombre announcements. The soundtrack did indeed clash badly with the serious tone of the announcement. Perhaps a silent playout, or even a blank endboard animation, would have been and would be more appropriate.

That's what the moon ident was originally for but now its not played anymore.

Helicopter with the original choral music was better for news and serious programming, the new version is not. But the new Helicopter music is superb and does cleverly sound like the whirring blades of a helicopter. They should have incorporated the new edits with the original versions in my opinion.

Talking of now defunct 'rested' idents, I'm actually missing Windows! It was rather bright and uplifting compared to the over used and rather creepy 'Lawn' ident.

I miss Moon, TBH, It was so peaceful and it was the perfect sombre ident.

For some reason, on both my set top box and tuner (from Sutton Coldfield) I am getting weird robot voices relaying things about BBC buildings and the time. Anyone else on Sutton Coldfield getting this?

EDIT: Back to normal now (00:11)
