I hope the Network Presentation BigWigs let you get into the festive spirit with some interesting scripts, or heaven forfend Adlibs! You really are the Voice of BBC One for me...
Yes, sorry about that. I have seen the finished ident (I think it's excellent but then I'm biased) but can't say any more until the TX.

I know we've confirmed the BBC One idents feature Doctor Who but this is a little snippet from RT's Radio Times interview for the 5th-11th December issue that somebody put up on Gallifrey Base.
Quote:
Lovely interview with RTD inside (confirming, among other things, those special BBC1 Christmas idents ("I watched the Wallace and Gromit idents last year then walked into the office the next day and said 'I want that!'").

The idents will be running for 3 weeks in fact
Make the most of David Tennant though, you'll miss him when he leaves Dr Who.
Death to David Tennant! As well as the double helping of Doctor Who this Christmas he's also on Cathrine Tate's show, QI, Never mind The Buzcocks, numerous chatshows as well as being in between every show on BBC1 for 2 weeks. Too much.

That makes sense because if part two of End Of Time goes out on New Year's Day that would be three weeks from December 12th. I wouldn't be too surprised if they have an ident featuring the new Doctor for when the new series rolls around.

They'll probably start the promos on December 1st, but I'm only guessing !
Does that mean the BBC One Christmas promos start this weekend or next?

12th! Personally, I got bored of the Wallace and Gromit ident within the same weekend as the joke once played was just that. I couldn't get a laugh out of it more than a few times of airplay.
This means the Christmas Ident will be on for a day short of two weeks before the big day itself. I don't want to hark back to the past but I use to remember when they use to air the evening of Christmas Eve through to Boxing Day and that was your lot!

Duncan's corrected himself now - it is indeed the 12th.
I thought the 19th was a bit late for BBC1 - they like to get him on air early.

Ah but these days the BBC want to get their moneys worth. I don't think nowadays the BBC would take too kindly to spending money on new idents and pres if they're just going to be in use for 2½ days and never to be seen again.
