Looks like 12th December for Christmas Idents

That's pretty early, I wouldn't want to go back to the days of them appearing on Christmas Eve (or sometimes Christmas Eve Night) but a few days before seems to be acceptable, I don't see what's wrong with Monday 21st December.

Run them from 4pm on Christmas Eve only, don't mind them running through post Christmas to New Year though. Going earlier than that only adds to the stress of the season.

Saturday 19th December to Friday 1st January would be ideal for me.

As they may be using the ident this year more as a promotional device (for Doctor Who) rather than a Christmas ident, it is no surprise they are starting it so early.

So a Dr Who Christmas ident then.

I just hope they've made it so that it feels truly festive. Or have they just stuck a christmas wreath on the Tardis door with the bbc1 logo in the middle? Very Happy

Or a dalek wearing a santa hat saying "Exterminate ho ho ho" Laughing

Looking at the SP 09 logo I couldn't instantaneously figure out what was "wrong" with the pic. I guess that's the reason they removed it as it's become so synonomous with the station you didn't "see" it anymore. Incidently, what was the source for this? TV, web ad?

Believe it was from a SP television ad.

I think we've got our wires crossed here, I was referring to the SP09 trail's use of the old BBC One logo that was withdrawn from use in October 2006. The trail was shown during Match of the Day.

Slight cock-up at the end of EastEnders: Omnibus this afternoon. Credits started, then went into something like Countryfile then the ECP started, Countryfile got reduced, subtitles for the said programme started, and then came back to full-screen... stayed on air for about 10 seconds, and then the EastEnders credits decided to come back...

The ident going into Points of View was slightly odd too... long start to Capes and the CA started talking about Songs of Praise and then said at the end "...and that's after this" to a very short crash into the PoV titles...

How can Christmas idents 'add stress' to the season?
