There have been a couple more of these tonight - Forest (including the same "analogue fuzz" as Petals), and Space, which featured some colour bars, the words "signal lost" and the number 456.

Have they been shown on Network at all, or is it just BBC Wales? (If it's the latter, I might post caps later if anyone wants me to.)

(sorry: simultaneous post)

Nice efforts, the pointer design reminds me of an old Carlton ident.

Have these appeared on network yet, we got the standard Capes at 8pm.

Sorry these have taken a while.

Nice bit of effort gone into doing them. Doesn't look like Network have bothered then?

And nice to hear the old Kites music, looks like BBC London are randomly still using the original version.

Also - at 7pm this special BBC One menu was used, which I haven't seen before (includes the end of Wales Today):

I'm sure it is just reflecting the wonderful weather that we have been having, although the weather today in some of Wales has not been that sunny.

I'm pleased to see BBC Wales have gone to the effort of doing something - it hasn't gone unnoticed, BTW, that someone has gone to the trouble to re-edit the Torchwood trailer to include a BBC Wales logo at the start and re-record the voiceover at the end!

I'm pretty sure that BBC London don't do their own idents, they're played ones played by Red Bee on network BBC1.

If not, it's not surprising for a region to play out an old ident, they just use whatever clip is in the template for their news programme

Yes, Moon still makes a regular appearence before the 10 here although the new Capes is what we see at all other times.

I thought (at least at one time) London did opt out for the ident so that network could do a generic announcement over a network branded ident apologising for the lack of local news in regions which have failed to opt out on the sustaining feed, then they opt back to network once they have been put onto the sustaining feed.

They certainly opt out for the headline sequences, during which the network carries sport headlines from N6.
